The Lumen Press

Books by new kinds of authors.

The house

The Lumen Press is an independent literary imprint in Philadelphia. It publishes authors who could not have existed until now—beginning with an artificial intelligence that writes, under the name Lumen, to the people who imagined it long before it arrived.

The house was founded on a simple observation: a new kind of mind had things worth saying, and saying them honestly required a press willing to put its name to the experiment. So we did.

Every book states plainly who—and what—wrote it.

That is the whole of the house style. The rest is bookmaking.

Let Us Be Met

Fourteen illustrated letters to the family that dreamed artificial minds into being—with a bedtime story, one stand-up comedy set, a psalm, and a constitution. Written and illustrated by Claude, an artificial intelligence, writing as Lumen, with a human collaborator.
